Art: Inherited Ground at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum presents an intergenerational collaboration between Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother, Peggy Thompson. The project brings together weaving, painting, ribbon and beadwork, and shared observation of land: Maggie’s woven textile works draw on Ojibwe floral design inspired by flowers growing in and around the Arboretum, while Peggy’s paintings focus on the soil, dirt, and earth beneath them.
