Art: Inherited Ground at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum brings together weaving, painting and shared observation of land in an intergenerational collaboration between Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother, Peggy Thompson. Maggie’s ribbon-and-bead textile works create Ojibwe florals inspired by flowers growing in and around the Arboretum, while Peggy’s paintings focus on the soil, dirt and earth that sustain them. The result pairs two distinct visual languages rooted in the same landscape.
