About this event
Art: Inherited Ground brings together the work of Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother, Peggy Thompson, in an intergenerational collaboration at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The project pairs Maggie’s woven textile pieces, using ribbon and beads to create Ojibwe florals inspired by flowers at the Arboretum, with Peggy’s paintings centered on the soil, dirt and earth beneath them. Together, the works explore land, texture and two distinct visual languages shaped by the same setting.
