Art: Inherited Ground presents an intergenerational collaboration between Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother, Peggy Thompson, at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The work combines weaving, painting, and shared observation of land: Maggie’s ribbon-and-bead textile pieces create Ojibwe florals inspired by flowers around the Arboretum, while Peggy’s paintings focus on the soil, dirt, and earth that sustain them.
