Art: Inherited Ground presents an intergenerational collaboration by Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother, Peggy Thompson. Their work combines weaving, painting, ribbon, beads, and shared observation of the Arboretum landscape. Maggie’s woven textile pieces feature Ojibwe floral designs inspired by flowers growing in and around the Arboretum, while Peggy’s paintings focus on the ground, dirt, and earth that sustain them.
