Weather permitting, Afton Apple Orchard will be open for raspberry picking until picked out. To avoid disappointment, call ahead (651-436-8385) or check the farm’s Facebook Page for current conditions and picking information. Visiting a pick-your-own berry farm can be a pretty sweet activity to do with kids. Most of the farms we’ve visited welcome children as long as they are supervised by their adults (and don’t snack too much right off the vine…). Farm staff will explain berry picking etiquette and provide flats for the fruit you pick. Afton Apple is a particularly fun berry farm to visit because there are farm animals to pet, photo ops scattered throughout and a yummy snack shack onsite.
